Hi Everyone, Don Treader here.
I wanted to bring to your attention some new and some old programmes airing this week in ‘The Uplift Show’ spot at 7am (repeated at 12 noon and 8pm) each day. We’ve a lot to celebrate, ten years of faithful listening and a superb bunch of followers. We’re privileged to have been able to bring a constant stream of Uplift to your ears!
On Monday (at the above times) Joe Bollard and Don Treader take to the air and regail you with a wide selection of genre. Look out for ‘Donegal Doll’ DJ sophia!
On Tuesday, Ireland’s gentle Gael, Eamonn McBride joins Don and brings with him a strong celtic air, a lot of good sense, and a plethera of jokes!
On Wednesday due to popular demand we’re going back in time. We had a request to put on Uplift Radio’s first ever show – a young Don Treader struggling with the airwaves. For the second hour, an even younger Don Treader aided by Tony Allen *alias Laurie Donaldson) and a programme they put together in 1970. You’ll get a good laugh, if nothing else – but the music is good!
Thursday sees us come back up to date, with Brian Fowler. He joins Don and brings his inimitable style to bear. You’ll enjoy this show.
And on Friday, bringing up the rear, DJ Sophia joins Don to bring about the ‘new young look’. She’s been there since the beginning and so she’s adding her weight and good looks to the record haul and ageing presenters of the station. Her birthday’s on the same day as Uplift Radio, but she’s a whole year older!
